He lives! He breathes! He walks among us! He pitches off a mound!
Eek, let’s hope those sores heal up before April.
Just a few flesh wounds. Nothing the Lakeland trainers can’t handle, I expect!
You totally skipped over the Verlander signing! You’re losing your touch, Sam. :P
OK, mea culpa. I missed the small print at the end of the last blog. Shame on me.
You know what, Bondo is pale enough to be a near-corpse most any day of the week… I remember when we would have Bondo on the mound, Inge at 3rd base, and Shelton at first… The fact that the entire rest of the team was all Latinos (Pudge, Polanco, Guillen, Magglio) and blacks (Granderson, Craig Monroe & Dmitri Young) made for one interesting contrast to those 3 albinos.
LOVE it that even though only partially emerged from the grave, he was all ready to grab a baseball and throw. It bodes well.
“First Inningsssss” indeed.
I hope Bondo’s brush with the grave has scared that little quirk of his right out of him.
I just saw a picture of him… not only is he alive, BUT HE HAS HAIR!!!!!!
Looks like he’s rising all ready to throw a 4-seam fastball . . . lefthanded?
h20, gimme some credit! :P I just didn’t want to bother making a whole new post for what would basically just be a confirmation of Dombrowski’s magical powers when we had just discussed said abilities.
I saw the hair! It makes him look like a Little Leaguer, fantastic. Apparently he usually lets it go over the winter and shaves it down again come summer?
I swear to cats, guys, I did not draw that hand emerging from the grave with the intention of making it a baseball grip… it was just supposed to be, you know, grraaarrrgh zombie hand. Apparently even my subconscious defaults to baseball now….
And see, I was thinking the hand rising from the grave was all reminiscent of that scene in Carrie or something. :P
Rumors of Bondo’s death have been greatly misinterpreted.
Hey, I’m not the one who originally reported him as dead. You may recall the players hanging his jersey in the dugout… ;)
